Walking on Sunshine ACPACI members, their families, friends and staff had their summer day out and headed over to Camp Pugad, in Pulongbunga, Silang, Cavite for some fresh air last May 19, 2012. People were washed over by the beauty of sights offered by the Camp with its picture perfect outdoor gardens replete with manicured grass, an assortment of local flowers, bushes, curious little plants, and trees. Some basked in the summer sun, made a splash and cooled off by swimming in Camp Pugad’s turquoise pool complete with slide and hanging bridge. The others took a soothing dip in the oversized outdoor Jacuzzi to escape the stroke-inducing heat. Some played the billiard; some strolled along the winding pathways of the camp, and took photographs of its surroundings and its plethora of flowers to their hearts’ content. Camp Pugad’s main quarter is a two-level structure with open design that looks out to the sprawling gardens; it has a huge verandah that gives a great feeling of airiness and breathable space. In this verandah, some of the members bonded together by sharing their stories, discussing the lecture of Dr. Racho about “me time” and “thunders and lightning” at the 3rd GMM, and laughing at each other’s funny antics. Also, in the same verandah, members and their families, friends and staff feasted on inihaw na liempo, grilled tilapia, pancit, pinakbet, mango salsa, fresh fruits and creamy buko pandan salad at lunch time. Everyone enjoyed a bottomless supply of buko juice. Like a glass of buko juice, the fun things the ACPACIans did at Camp Pugad were meant to wash away the chaos of the daily grind, and like a glass of buko juice, to hush away the noises of the world.
