ACPACI going strong at 37 celebrated its founding anniversary through its 2nd General Membership Meeting and Seminar for 2010 last March 18, 2010 at the Legaspi Room of Hotel Intercontinental Manila. Familiar faces of dedicated and loyal ACPACI members attended this event. The whole day event offered both fun, learning and networking.
The technical sessions covered updates and discussion of PFRS and SEC Updates by Mr. Wilson Tan and Mr. Gemilo San Pedro, SGV Ernst & Young Assurance Partners, respectively. The session was aimed to clarify and answer questions on the improvements, amendments and new standards on PFRS as released by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The luncheon meeting started with the President’s time from ACPACI President Atty. Betty Salvador. This 37th year celebration ACPACI embarks on another project formation of the ACPACI Hymn. The lyrics will be determined via a contest. New members were introduced and inducted by Atty. Betty Salvador. The highlight of the luncheon meeting is the speech of our guest speaker BIR Commissioner Joel Tan-Torres on what are the plans and programs of BIR.
The last technical session in the afternoon focused on BIR updates. Ms. Ms. Lina Figueroa gave out tips, reminders and advices on taxes and BIR Returns preparation highlighting the most recent rulings from the BIR.
Open forum follows each session, giving the members an opportunity to clarify vague areas so that issues and update could be better understood by everyone. The 2nd GMM and Seminar came to a full circle at 5:00 pm.
